Alleged sexual harassment to the extent of raping in store room

Dr Rafiuddin Hamidon is accused of raping his 21-year-old assistant in the store room of a clinic in Pantai Dalam, Kuala Lumpur

A doctor has claimed trial in the sessions court in Kuala Lumpur to raping and having unnatural sex with his clinic assistant at a clinic in Pantai Dalam last week, media reported yesterday.

Dr Rafiuddin Hamidon at the Kuala Lumpur court complex yesterday.

According to FMT, Dr Rafiuddin Hamidon, 34, pleaded not guilty to both charges before judge Encik Zaki Salleh.

The father of three was charged with raping the 21-year-old woman in the store room of the clinic.

He was also charged with committing carnal intercourse against the order of nature by forcibly inserting his finger into her private part.

The offences allegedly took place at the same location between 4am and 5am on 15 March.

The first charge was framed under Section 375(b) of the Penal Code, which provides for up to 20 years’ imprisonment and whipping, upon conviction.

The second charge, framed under Section 377C of the Penal Code, is punishable by between five and 20 years in prison and whipping, upon conviction.

Lawyer Encik Adi Zulkarnain Zulkafli asked for the court to a reasonable sum as bail, saying the accused was a general practitioner supporting his wife and three children, including a newborn.

The court granted bail of RM18,000 with one surety and ordered Rafiuddin to surrender his passport.

It also set 23 April for mention.

After all, it was him who brilliantly destroyed the original UMNO in 1988 and created “UMNO Baru” (the current UMNO version 2.0). Shah Alam City YESTERDAY, FMT reported that the capital city of Selangor had become very quiet, slow and almost no business, many buildings unoccupied, which one of them only utilised by less than ten staff of a company. A lawyer's personal opinion on Tommy Thomas' controversial book

  Read it while you still can REVIEW - *"My Story: Justice in the Wilderness" by Tommy Thomas* SPOILERS (Then again, it's a memoir, so does that really count? But you've been warned). Well I'll cut to the chase. I loved the book. But I think a huge part of why I loved it is because I also happen to be a lawyer, a litigator, and a keen follower of Malaysian politics. It doesn't hurt either that Tommy Thomas' values for the most part, align with mine. It's an honest book, in the sense that he really doesn't bother mincing his words or sparing anyone's feelings (that should be apparent by now, given the number of people who have lodged complaints, filed police reports, and threatened to sue him over the book). Reading it gives you the impression that Tommy Thomas really doesn't care (or if you're French, DGAF).
