Chuck Norris is still alive
On 10 March 2025, Chuck Norris turned 85.
But instead of making it about himself, he chose to honor the strongest person he ever knew — his mother, Wilma Norris Knight.
“My mom would’ve turned 104 this 24 May 2025,” he wrote.
She was born in 1921 in Wilson, a tiny town in Oklahoma where Chuck also grew up. Back then, it was a close-knit place with barely 1,800 people.
Her childhood was anything but easy.
At just 8 years old, she was placed under state care due to extreme poverty. She spent two years in a children’s hospital fighting a rare illness — alone, away from her family.
When she finally returned home — healed, but during the harshest years of the Great Depression — life didn’t get any easier. The whole family, even the children, picked cotton to survive. When one field was done, they moved to the next town and started over.
She married Chuck’s father at 16.
Years later, he abandoned them — and Wilma raised three boys alone.
Chuck, the oldest, had to become “the man of the house” while still just a boy.
They had nothing, but Wilma gave her sons everything that mattered — grit, faith, and unshakable values. She outlived 10 siblings, buried two husbands, a stepson, two grandchildren… and her youngest son, Wieland, who died in Vietnam.
She fought cancer more than once. Survived over 30 surgeries.
And still… she never stopped smiling. Never stopped loving. Never stopped praying.
“My mom prayed for me every single day,” Chuck shared.
“When I lost my way in Hollywood, she prayed I’d find my soul again. She prayed for the right woman to come into my life. And you know what? Her prayers worked.”
He added: “There’s an old Spanish saying: ‘An ounce of a mother’s love is worth more than a pound of sermons.’ That was my mom.”
Wilma Norris Knight passed away on December 4, 2024, at the age of 103.
She left behind a legacy of strength, unwavering faith, and fierce love — the kind that keeps shaping generations long after she’s gone.
A true silent hero.
