Negeri Sembilan crisis is still far from over – 10 Exco members file lawsuits in the High Court
A news portal, MalaysiaGazette reported that ten Negeri Sembilan State Legislative Assembly members (ADUN) have taken legal action to seek a court determination regarding the revocation of their appointments as state government Exco members
They are Datuk Mohd Faizal Ramli, Datuk Zaifulbahri Idris, Datuk Mustapha Nagoor, Encik Siow Kong Choon, Puan Siti Nur Umaira Hasim, Datuk Mohd Asna Amin, Datuk Mohd Razi Mohd Ali, Encik Suhaimizan Bizar, Encik Mohd Fairuz Mohd Isa, and Datuk Razali Abu Samah.
The case concerned was filed at the Seremban High Court on Tuesday, 6 October, with all of them naming the Negeri Sembilan State Government Secretary and the Negeri Sembilan State Government as defendants.
Through the originating summons filed by Messrs. Hafarizam Wan & Aisha Mubarak, they are, among other things, seeking the court to determine the validity of the cancellation of the appointment, which took effect last 24 September.
Among them is the question of whether the consent of the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan for the appointment of an Exco member can be unilaterally withdrawn without the advice of the Menteri Besar.
All of them also requested the court to declare the cancellation as null and void, in addition to having no legal effect on their positions.
The dispute is related to the Negeri Sembilan Government Gazette N.S. P.U. 18 dated 24 September 2026, which records the revocation of the appointment concerned.
Besides the validity of the cancellation of appointments, they want the court to decide on the constitutional question regarding the power to terminate the appointment of state government Exco members.
The application now places the question regarding the power and procedure for revoking the appointment of Exco members to be determined through the judicial process, said MalaysiaGazette.
