Negeri Sembilan crisis: Four Undangs withdraw judicial review
The three disputed Undang Luak (Territorial Chiefs) of Negeri Sembilan and the Undang Luak of Johol today withdrew the judicial review application filed to force the Menteri Besar to sign a proclamation regarding the dethronement of Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir as the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan.
Harian Metro reported the withdrawal of the application was recorded during case management conducted in chambers before High Court Judge Puan Norliza Othman.
They are Datuk Mubarak Thahak, Datuk Maarof Mat Rashid, Datuk Abd Rahim Yasin, and Datuk Muhammed Abdullah, who, as the applicants, filed the application last July.
The Council of the Royal Customary Laws (DKU) of Negeri Sembilan and its secretary, Raja Norazli Raja Nordin, had previously applied to intervene in the proceedings
In the application, all four applicants are seeking a mandamus order to compel the Menteri Besar (Chief Minister) to sign a proclamation recognizing the abdication of Tuanku Muhriz."
According to the Malay daily, they also requested another proclamation to recognize Tunku Nadzaruddin Tuanku Jaafar as the 12th Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan.
