JPJ suspends My E.G., Zetrix AI as collection agents
Media reported today that the Road Transport Department (JPJ) has suspended the services of My E.G. Sdn Bhd and Zetrix AI Bhd, which are under the MYEG Group, as its collection agents, effective 12.01am on 5 October 2026.
JPJ Director-General Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli said the decision was made after considering the firms’ compliance with the terms and conditions of their respective agreements, as well as their unfulfilled obligations.
“In line with this decision, all of JPJ’s services that were previously offered via the MYEG Group will be suspended from 5 October,” FMT quoted Aedy as saying in a statement today.
Aedy assured the public that JPJ’s services would continue as usual through the department’s official and alternative channels.
He said applications for JPJ’s computer-based driving theory examination made via the MYEG channels before 5 October would be allowed to proceed.
“New applications after 5 October must be made through KPP test centres at driving institutes throughout Malaysia, and tests must be taken there,” he said.
Aedy said non-citizens seeking to pay summonses at the Singapore-Malaysia border can go to mobile JPJ units located at the Sultan Abu Bakar Complex and Sultan Iskandar Building from 8am-10pm.
Earlier today, the transport ministry reportedly confirmed that Zetrix AI owes JPJ more than RM200 million.
Zetrix AI, previously known as MyEG Services Bhd, allegedly failed to remit money collected from customers for vehicle road tax, driving licence renewals and traffic summonses.
This follows a report by Singapore’s Straits Times claiming that Zetrix failed to transfer the funds after its three-year contract with JPJ began in May 2023. The report quoted a government official as saying the transport ministry was mulling its next steps.
MyEG was founded in 2000 and was appointed that same year to provide online government services, including vehicle road tax and insurance renewals through its link-up with JPJ.
It was rebranded as Zetrix AI in July 2025 to reflect its transition from an e-government services provider to a global technology infrastructure group.
