The Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Almarhum Paduka Ayahanda Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al Musta'in Billah (picture, top, in blue), has reminded all recipients of the Al-Sultan Abdullah People's House (Ru'RASA) to never sell or rent out their houses to other parties, Harian Metro reported yesterday.
The Malay daily said His Majesty stressed that the houses that were gifted cannot be sold or rented out because they are specifically provided for the benefit of the recipients and their families.
"Don't think about selling or renting them out. I won't even give you rent. This is special for all of you. If Allah SWT has called us (to die), it will be passed down (inherited) to our children and grandchildren.
"It cannot be sold or rented," His Majesty stressed at the Key Handing Over Ceremony for the Al-Sultan Abdullah People's House (Ru'RASA) Phase 2 Kuantan and Jerantut Districts at the Ru'RASA House site, Tanjung Lumpur, in Kuantan, Pahang, on Sunday, 14 September 2026.
Also present was Tengku Ampuan Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah.
Also present were the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ambassador to Malaysia, Dr Mubarak Saeed Ahmed Al Dhaheri; Chairman of the Pahang Local Government, Housing, Environment and Green Technology Committee, Datuk Seri Mohammad Fakhruddin Mohd Ariff and Chief Executive Officer of the Pahang Housing and Property Board (LPHP), Datuk Ahmad Islanizam A. Halim.
His Majesty's statement was posted on the Pahang Sultanate's Facebook.
In a separate address, His Majesty expressed his appreciation to the UAE for its cooperation and concern in helping the people of Pahang, especially through the provision of housing and other necessary assistance.
"Once again, I would like to express my appreciation for the concern in helping my people in Pahang by providing houses and several other forms of assistance when needed.
"We always pray for the health, well-being and long life of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Zayed Al Nahyan (President of the UAE) as well as the safety of His Highness, his family and the people of the UAE," His Majesty said.
