The renowned blogger could burst into tears reflecting on Anwar's plight

"I SYMPATHIZE WITH ANWAR"

I truly sympathize with the PKR President who is also the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, for several reasons.

First, a study conducted by PKR itself found that the parliamentary seat he currently holds  Tambun  is no longer considered a safe seat for the party in the upcoming general election.
When the Tambun seat is categorized as marginal or precarious for PKR, it means it is also marginal or precarious for Anwar to continue contesting there.
Ideally, since Tambun was won by Anwar, the seat should remain safe, regardless of whether he contests there again or someone else replaces him.

Surely the voters of Tambun would be excited and remain loyal because they have the Prime Minister as their Member of Parliament.
Since independence, every Prime Minister has always had a safe and secure seat.
For example, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad in Kubang Pasu, Tun Abdullah Badawi in Kepala Batas, Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak in Pekan, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin in Pagoh, and Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob in Bera.
Not only were these areas easily won when their party controlled the government and they held the title of Prime Minister, but even when their party suffered defeat—for instance, Najib in 2018 and Ismail Sabri in 2022—both still managed to win in Pekan and Bera.
Never before has the Parliamentary seat represented by a sitting Prime Minister been categorized as an unsafe seat.

Unfortunately for Anwar, while he is still the Prime Minister, the Tambun seat he holds has already been categorized as an unsafe seat.
This makes me feel sympathetic.
Second, the same findings also reveal that there are only seven safe seats for PKR in the 16th General Election (GE16), namely Bayan Baru, Selayang, Ampang, Pandan, Subang, Petaling Jaya, and Batu.
Anwar is a renowned and highly respected Prime Minister worldwide. During all his visits to various countries, the receptions and celebrations accorded to him make us as Malaysians very proud.
In fact, he can contact many world leaders just by phone, and the President of Iran, for example, warmly calls him "Brother Anwar."
In short, if he were to contest in some of the countries he has visited, he could easily win.
But unfortunately, in his own country and while he is still the Prime Minister, there are only seven safe seats for his party.
With PKR only having seven safe seats, how can they remain in power?
Once again, I sympathize with Anwar.
Third, among those seven safe seats, four of them belong to Rafizi Ramli's faction, the former PKR Deputy President who is now his main rival.
This means if those four pro-Rafizi Members of Parliament contest again in those areas, regardless of the ticket, their chances of winning are extremely bright.
The Pandan seat, currently represented by Rafizi, is also listed among the seven safe seats.
This situation means that even though Rafizi has been sidelined as PKR Deputy President, he still has a safe seat compared to Anwar, the President of PKR himself.
I truly sympathize with the situation.
Fourth, when PKR itself finds that the Tambun seat is no longer safe, where does Anwar want to contest in the next general election?
Since Anwar is reportedly no longer visiting Tambun frequently—unlike his diligent visits to Port Dickson previously—many rumors say he will not contest in that seat again.
Some say he will return to Permatang Pauh or perhaps contest in one of those seven categorized safe seats. But if that happens, it would make him the only nomadic or wandering Prime Minister in Malaysia.
A Prime Minister should not be wandering around without a permanent, safe seat.
This time, it is no longer just sympathy; it even makes me feel like crying.
The reality is, if he does not even have a safe seat for himself, how can Anwar possibly save PKR and Pakatan Harapan from losing power?
