Thai actress Mild Lapassalan Jiravechsoontornkul has broken her silence on the sexual abuse allegations involving her husband, businessman Encik Sunit "Pi" Scott, Anndrea A Webber wrote and published by Malaysian English daily The Star yesterday.

Her recent statement follows claims made by her brother-in-law Encik Siranudh "Psi" Scott, who alleged on 9 May that Pi had sexually assaulted him during their childhood years

Pi, a fourth generation heir of Thailand's Singha Beer empire, initially denied the claims via his wife's Facebook account, which has over 4.6 million followers.

However, Psi later released an audio recording on his social media accounts, saying it contained evidence of his brother's alleged confession to the abuse.

According to Thai news portal Thaiger, the recording featured a conversation in which Psi accused Pi of forcing him to perform oral sex when he was around 10 or 11, when Pi was 16.

The recording also allegedly captured Pi saying he was too young at the time to fully understand that his actions were wrong, adding that he had previously attempted to solve the matter privately.

In a Facebook post on 16 May, Mild said she had never heard the aforementioned recording throughout her time together with Pi, whom she married last December.

The actress apologised for any hurt caused, adding that she would be distancing herself from her husband to reflect.

"I'm deeply guilty and saddened that things have reached this point. I'm truly sorry for what Psi had to go through.

"From now on, I will distance myself from my husband to reflect on myself and take care of my mental health," the 31-year-old wrote.

Mild also apologised to her industry friends, who faced online criticism after they liked and supported her posts in which her husband had defended himself.

"They only wanted to support me but didn't know the full story. Thank you to everyone who sent me support, and thank you as well for standing by Psi," she wrote.
