Khairy Jamaluddin and UMNO are fake progressives, says Lim Guan Eng

DAP Advisor Encik Lim Guan Eng expressed his disappointment yesterday and bluntly said that former minister Encik Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar and UMNO are fake progressives.

The former Finance Minister said Khairy Jamaluddin’s assertion that UMNO Youth chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh’s style of politics is still necessary in UMNO is disappointing. He added, Khairy appears to say that UMNO president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi tolerates Akmal’s culture war politics and controversial style because of the “clear and present danger on the (political) right, which is dominated by Perikatan Nasional”.

"Two wrongs do not make a right.  If PN is wrong to indulge in extremist actions and controversial style to reinforce Malay nationalist support, then it is equally wrong for UMNO Youth leaders to follow suit. This is a very different Khairy from the one sacked by Zahid Hamidi before rejoining UMNO," Guan Eng wrote via his official Facebook account yesterday.

"Back then, Khairy espoused a non-racial line and progressive policies that he portrayed as fair and beneficial to all Malaysians. Clearly Khairy’s attempt to whitewash Akmal’s unacceptable and irresponsible acts demonstrates that both UMNO and Khairy are fake progressives.

"UMNO has shown its naked ambition for power at all costs by stabbing its coalition partners in the back in the failed coup d’etat to seize power in the Negeri Sembilan state government as well as the unilateral declaration of war in Johor by announcing UMNO and BN’s intention to contest all 56 state seats in the coming Johor state general elections.

"For those who placed some expectations and even hopes on Khairy can now see that both Khairy and UMNO have proven that a leopard cannot change its spots," he said.

Australian political analyst says Malaysian PM's political party, PKR is in collapse

While Malaysian prime minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is on an official visit to Italy, Spain and Brazil to attend the BRICS summit, his own Peoples’ Justice Party (PKR) is in rapid collapse at home. News is emerging from chat groups and pundits there are mass branch resignations of members across more than 200 branches nationwide. Some branches just don’t exist anymore. OVERCONCENTRATION OF A MALAY POPULATION MAKES SHAH ALAM A GHOST CITY, SAYS ANALYST

Shah Alam City YESTERDAY, FMT reported that the capital city of Selangor had become very quiet, slow and almost no business, many buildings unoccupied, which one of them only utilised by less than ten staff of a company. Some factories closed down, businesses from petty traders to big timers closed shops for the past six months and so on. Even foreign business people from Indonesia and Pakistan decided to go back to their respective countries or moved to other places.
