Laugh is so easy
During a break in the middle of the seminar, I happened to see a Thai woman sitting alone, sobbing uncontrollably.
Without wasting any time, I approached her and handed over a cup of strong coffee. She accepted the coffee and drank it.
Finally, she shared that she felt stressed, constantly laughed at by colleagues for completing tasks a bit slowly compared to other colleagues who are quick and fast.
I asked if her boss has ever been angry based on her work performance and results. She said no.
"In fact, my boss always praises me for my good, perfect, and satisfying work," she replied.
Then I asked: "What about the other workers who are fast and agile?"
The woman replied: "I'm not sure. But I've also seen bosses scold them because there were some mistakes in their work, eventually they had to redo the work again to correct the mistakes."
I thought for a moment. Then I shared my experience by telling her that in many cases, people who like to laugh at people and put people down are usually worse off than those being laughed at.
Through my mobile phone, I showed the woman a short video presentation of a story about people being laughed at...
The woman then laughed spontaneously and did not cry again.
