Tech leader dies at 56
Media reported on September 9, 2024, Malaysian tech industry leader Puan Faizah Mohamed Amin has died at 56.
In a press release quoted by New Straits Times, Cradle Fund Sdn Bhd said Faizah, who was a member of its board, left behind a legacy of leadership and innovation in Malaysia's technology sector.
Her career, spanning over two decades, included pivotal roles in local and international projects, such as Malaysia's first-generation Internet, the National Public Cloud and, Saudi Arabia's Madinah Knowledge Economic City.
Her leadership extended to senior roles at Telekom Malaysia Bhd, UMW Group, and HP Malaysia, where her efforts won the company prestigious awards.
Appointed as an independent non-executive director in September 2019, Faizah also served as the Board Audit, Risk, and Governance Committee chairperson and contributed significantly to Cradle's vision.
"Faizah's passing represents a significant loss to Cradle and Malaysia's startup ecosystem," the organisation stated, acknowledging her visionary leadership and commitment to technology.
Faizah was also the wife of 'Teacher's Pet' lead singer Maman.
