Singer Rahim Maarof's first appearance since suffering from high blood pressure three years ago
"Kota Bharu (the capital of Kelantan) is crying tonight," Berita Harian newspaper quoted famous influencer and entrepreneur, Encik Syahmi Sazli as saying. Syahmi also uploaded a video of legendary singer, Rahim Maarof's performance on social media.
Rahim, 70, performed the song Usang at the BLANK Jom Santai X Syahmi Sazli event in the parking area at Mydin Mall, Tunjung, Kota Bharu, last night.
This is the first appearance of Rahim, who is popular with various songs including Lizawati, Istana Menanti, Jangan Kau Rayu, Cinta Kristal and Syakila, after a long break due to high blood pressure in March 2023.
Although he has not fully recovered, Rahim tried to give his best performance to the fans who flocked to the location. Some even sang along with him.
According to the Malay-language newspaper, the post on Syahmi Sazli Production's Facebook (FB) has received over 21,000 likes and comments from over 1,000 viewers.
On average, they prayed for Rahim to be given good health and described him as a great legendary singer.
In fact, there were comments from fans who admitted to crying without realizing it when they saw Rahim's performance.
Before that, Syahmi also consoled Rahim backstage and uploaded a video of Rahim being led by his assistant to go on stage.
Rahim was treated at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Sungai Buloh Hospital in March 2023 due to high blood pressure.
However, he began to show positive developments after being allowed to return home in June of the same year.
