Facebooker Kenny Sgi's Response to Sukhdave Singh's Criticism of Anwar and the Tabung Haji RCI Report
Sukhdave Singh's criticism of Anwar over the Tabung Haji Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report has been making rounds. While he raises important questions about governance and accountability, his criticism is premature, unfair, and based on incomplete information.
Let me break down why:
1. The Report Was Already Made Public
Singh attacked Anwar for "concealing the truth" and called the delay an "excuse to not do anything." However, on July 29, 2026—the very next day after Singh posted his criticism—the Cabinet declassified and made the RCI report public.
His entire argument crumbled within 24 hours.
2. Anwar's "Delay" Was to Save Tabung Haji, Not Protect Criminals
Anwar has repeatedly explained that when the RCI report was completed 3 years ago, Tabung Haji was on the "brink of collapse." Releasing it then would have triggered panic withdrawals and destroyed the institution.
This isn't an "excuse for inaction" — it's responsible leadership: stabilize first, then pursue accountability.
3. The Government Has Already Acted
The Cabinet didn't just declassify the report — it also ordered immediate and full investigations by enforcement agencies to ensure anyone who broke the law will face prosecution.
The report contains 25 recommendations for improvement, and Tabung Haji's management has already implemented 75% of them.
In 2025, the fund announced a 3.50% profit distribution — the highest since 2018. That's RM3.22 billion benefiting over 9.7 million depositors. This is not "doing nothing."
4. Singh Blamed the Wrong Person
Tabung Haji's financial problems occurred between 2014 and 2020 — long before Anwar became Prime Minister in 2022.
The real "big thieves" are the previous governments that left us with:
(a) RM1.5 trillion in national debt
(b) Over 100 scandals (1MDB, Tabung Haji, Felda, PKFZ, LCS, and more)
(c) 1MDB — the biggest thief of all, Najib, was convicted and jailed
None of this was done by Anwar.
5. Is Singh's Criticism Fair?
He asks: "What about the RM10 billion in depositors' funds that vanished? Where is the accountability?"
This is precisely what Anwar's government is now doing. The report is public. Investigations are underway. Blaming the current government for cleaning up the previous administration's mess is simply unfair.
A Warning to All Voters
Singh is entitled to raise issues. But we must think carefully and not be misled or blindly follow anyone.
Ask yourself
· Who benefits from tearing down Anwar's government? The vultures and big thieves who want to return to power and plunder again!
· Do you really want to replace Anwar's government with PN? Another group of vultures and big thieves waiting for the right moment to collapse this government.
Anwar is not perfect. His report card shows 60%. But in the current political reality, we cannot get a perfect Prime Minister — everyone else's integrity is even more questionable.
Anwar is sharing this government with corrupted creatures — he has to safeguard his position as Prime Minister of the Unity Government and not let it be toppled and taken over by PN.
The Bottom Line
Singh may be raising valid questions, but he's blaming the wrong person. He should be directing his anger at the big thieves who caused the problem, not the man trying to fix it.
Anwar's silence on this issue was not to protect himself — he was not the thief in the Tabung Haji scandal. As Prime Minister, he may not want to make a big fuss to attract attention, or he may have his own plans to derail the thieves later.
Singh should apologize — not just to Anwar, but to the Malaysian public — for making accusations that were rendered obsolete within hours, and for failing to acknowledge the government's swift action in declassifying the report and pursuing accountability.
Use your wisdom. Think carefully. Don't be influenced or become a blind follower. Just my 2-cent instinct and opinion.

I find it impossible to accept his rationale that the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report on Tabung Haji was withheld out of fear that depositors would lose faith in the institution. Protecting an institution's reputation by concealing the truth is not leadership; it is an excuse to not do anything.
What about the RM10B in depositors' funds that vanished? What about the millions of ordinary Msians who scraped together their hard-earned savings, ringgit by ringgit, for a sacred pilgrimage, only to have their trust betrayed? And most importantly: where is the accountability for those who plundered these funds?
I have said it before, and I will say it again: Msia’s deepest crisis is the systemic erosion of governance. It persists because our leaders preach reform on the podium, yet lack the gumption to enforce it when accountability becomes uncomfortable.
Citizens do not lose faith in an institution when malfeasance is exposed and the culprits are brought to justice. They lose faith when wrongdoing is swept under the carpet and we get political excuses.
Enough with the tired routine of politicians allowing public funds to be plundered, only to quietly plug the hole with taxpayers' money. Taxpayers fulfill their obligations because the long arm of the law leaves them no choice. It seems far easier for the gov to squeeze compliant taxpayers than to demand a true reckoning from those who pillaged the funds of Tabung Haji's contributors.
When it comes to governance, there is no middle ground: either u are a genuine reformer, or u are a chameleon masquerading as one 🇲🇾.
