"My wife is not working"

It's about “The Unemployed Wife”

A man walks into a doctor’s office — exhausted, tense, barely catching his breath.

Doctor: What seems to be the problem?

Man: I’m worn out. Work, stress, constant pressure.

Doctor: What do you do for a living?

Man: I’m an accountant at a bank.

Doctor: And your wife?

Man: Oh, nothing special. She’s a stay-at-home mom. Doesn’t work.

Doctor: Who wakes you and the kids up in the morning and makes breakfast?

Man: She does. I mean… she doesn’t work.

Doctor: What time does she get up?

Man: Around 5:30. I get up at seven. She gets the kids ready for school, makes breakfast. You know — since she’s home.

Doctor: Who drives them to school?

Man: She does. She’s free.

Doctor: And what does she do when she gets back?

Man: Cooks lunch, does laundry, cleans the house, picks the kids up from school. I mean… she’s not working.

Doctor: And you?

Man: I’m at the office until five. After that, I rest. It’s been a long day.

Doctor: And she?

Man: Homework with the kids.

Doctor: In the evening?

Man: I catch up on the news, maybe watch some TV. She makes dinner, washes the dishes, tidies up, gets the kids to bed.

The doctor removes his glasses and looks directly at him.

Doctor: Tell me something… which one of you actually needs therapy?

Man: I guess… me?

Doctor: No, sir. Your wife. And urgently. Because if all of that counts as “not working,” then you’re the one who’s been on vacation from real life.
