Former religious minister solemnises Syed Saddiq and Bella


Media happily reported Muar MP Tuan Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman and singer-actress Bella Astillah officially tied the knot today.

Referring to Astro Awani's news report, FMT said the couple was solemnised by former religious minister Datuk Seri Dr Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri at 10.40am on the 118th floor of Menara Merdeka Maybank, in Kuala Lumpur.

Syed Saddiq, 33, presented Bella, 32, with a dowry (mas kahwin) of RM500, a gold ring, and seven trays of gifts, and received nine trays of wedding gifts in return.

About 300 guests, including family members, several VIPS and close friends, attended the ceremony.

Among those present were former prime ministers Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, former deputy prime minister (Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's wife) Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, former health minister Encik Khairy Jamaluddin, Federal Territories Minister Puan Hannah Yeoh and Capital A CEO Tan Sri Tony Fernandes.

Singapore’s former opposition leader Encik Pritam Singh was also among the guests.

The couple will hold a formal reception at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (Mitec) on 18 October, followed by the “kenduri rakyat” in Muar on 25 October and Kota Kinabalu on 31 October.

Syed Saddiq proposed to Bella at the summit ofMount Kinabalu in Sabah on 28 March, the same day the couple announced their engagement.

OVERCONCENTRATION OF A MALAY POPULATION MAKES SHAH ALAM A GHOST CITY, SAYS ANALYST

Shah Alam City YESTERDAY, FMT reported that the capital city of Selangor had become very quiet, slow and almost no business, many buildings unoccupied, which one of them only utilised by less than ten staff of a company. Some factories closed down, businesses from petty traders to big timers closed shops for the past six months and so on. Even foreign business people from Indonesia and Pakistan decided to go back to their respective countries or moved to other places. A prominent business analyst, in his blog wrote that one of the reasons for the downfall of Shah Alam was the government's policy in overconcentrating a Malay population in the said city. Dalam satu perkembangan yang agak memeranjatkan, teraju utama Parti Bersama Malaysia (Bersama) Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli mengesahkan Encik Syukri Razab ( gambar , atas sekali ) adalah presiden parti itu dan namanya berdaftar dengan Pendaftar Pertubuhan (RoS - Registrar of Society) Malaysia. Beliau merupakan bekas pegawai khas kepada Rafizi Ramli. Selepas pengambilalihan parti tersebut, Rafizi dan Encik Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad mengambil alih peranan sebagai peneraju utama parti, namun Syukri Razab kekal memegang jawatan Presiden Parti Bersama.
