Some believe the hidden UMNO's agenda is to protect and save its corrupt leaders

PKR Youty deputy chief Nabil Halimi said Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman immediately left the government backbench after disagreeing with a government policy.

UMNO’s challenge for critics to sack the party from the government was mocked by a PKR Youth leader who compared it to the threat by a spouse who challenged their partner for a divorce but continued to seek comfort in the same bed at night.

As reported by FMT, PKR Youth deputy chief Encik Nabil Halimi said: “They want a divorce, but also cherished the comfortableness.”

Nabil held up the youth party Muda and its former president, Muar MP Tuan Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, as having displayed more courage. “When they disagreed with the government, they immediately sat in the opposition bloc,” Nabil said.

Syed Saddiq dropped out of the unity government backbench in 2023 after publicly expressing dissatisfaction with the abrupt halt of deputy prime minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s trial on corruption charges.

Syed Saddiq said his party, which has one seat in the Dewan Rakyat, would form a “third force” in the opposition bloc.

Earlier today, Zahid, who is UMNO president, made another veiled jab at Pakatan Harapan by challenging UMNO’s critics to kick out UMNO and Barisan Nasional from the unity coalition government.

It came a day after he took jabs at Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is PH chairman, whom he referred to as “guru” and said that UMNO could do better than the PKR president.

He also criticised uncertainties surrounding government policies, particularly on taxation and for flip-flopping on the BUDI95 quota.
