Two Different Versions on Why Khalid Ibrahim Was Fired from PKR

Yesterday, the Cardock Facebook account took a trip down memory lane, revisiting the political history of the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) during its heyday in Selangor.

The post stated that the 2014 sacking of the late Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim from PKR presented two contrasting narratives: his personal claims and the party's official explanation.

According to Khalid Ibrahim's claims during his political talks, the primary reason for his dismissal was his refusal to allow Selangor state government funds to be used to finance PKR activities. He asserted that state administrative funds are public money that should not be misused for partisan political interests.

Conversely, PKR provided a different official reason for the disciplinary action. The PKR disciplinary board terminated him immediately for defying the party's decision requesting him to step down as Menteri Besar (Chief Minister) to facilitate the "Kajang Move".

Additionally, the party stated that the sacking stemmed from his failure to manage party welfare and several state administrative issues, including the Kinrara-Damansara Expressway (KIDEX) project controversy and the restructuring negotiations of the Selangor water industry.

In the comments section, a netizen named Jemang Misdan said: "Between the late Tan Sri Khalid's reasons and PKR's, I believe TS Khalid more. He promised free water, and he delivered. He promised educational aid for Selangor children, and he delivered. He did such a great job that the late Sultan of Selangor praised him as the best MB Selangor has ever had. In his entire life, he never had any corruption or moral scandals."

Another netizen, Suhaini binti Saperan, commented: "When the late MB was leading Selangor, I got to enjoy paying less than RM10 for water for years. Now, the monthly water bill is over RM40, even though our household is smaller because some of the kids are married and in college. ☺️ That's just how it is."

Only God knows the truth (Wallahualam).
