PKR Setiawangsa MP Nik Nazmi divorces Dr Imaan to end their 14-year-old marriage

PKR political star Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad yesterday, Tuesday 2 July 2019 announced that he and his wife Dr Imaan Abdul Rahim have agreed to end their marriage.

The matter was confirmed by his personal assistant.

The couple, who had been married for 14 years have one son, Nik Ilhan Nik Nazmi.

In a statement, the PKR central leadership council member said he was grateful for their years together as well as the support they had received from their family and friends.

"I would like to apologise for any pain or grief caused to any party, especially our families.

"Our son's happiness and well-being are our sole concern and we are committed to raising him together," he added.

He also asked all quarters to respect their privacy, saying no further statements would be issued.

Actress Maya Karin

Meanwhile, in a separate development, controversial actress in her 40s, Maya Karin said that she had nothing to do with Nik Nazmi's divorce, according to Utusan.

While Malaysian prime minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is on an official visit to Italy, Spain and Brazil to attend the BRICS summit, his own Peoples’ Justice Party (PKR) is in rapid collapse at home. News is emerging from chat groups and pundits there are mass branch resignations of members across more than 200 branches nationwide. Some branches just don’t exist anymore. Pengelola Bijaya Diraja Sultan Pahang Mejar Jeneral Datuk Mohamed Zahari Yahya menerusi pengisytiharan memaklumkan gelaran berkenaan berkuat kuasa mulai 1 Januari 2026.
