The Best Is To Announce I'm Resigning Upon Completion Of This Term

Anwar Ibrahim Has Less Than 20% Chance of Becoming the Next Prime Minister

“Wind Against PH is Very Bad” — DAP’s Ong Kian Ming Rates Madani Government 3/10

In a revealing appearance on the Yum Cha Sessions podcast, DAP’s former MP Encik Ong Kian Ming delivered what amounts to a brutally honest internal assessment of Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) dire political prospects, reported Media Coverage via its Facebook account yesterday.

Ong reportedly said Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim currently stands with only a 20% chance — or less — of retaining or returning as Prime Minister after the next General Election (GE16).

Collapse of Core Support

Ong painted a grim picture of PH’s eroding support base:

Chinese community support for PH is projected to plummet from a staggering 97% previously to as low as 60%. While Indian community support is expected to fall from 83% to below 50%.

He warned of a potential “total annihilation” for DAP Sabah in the Peninsular, signaling how even traditional strongholds are crumbling.

On the ground, Ong described the anti-PH “wind” and wave as overwhelmingly negative.

He rated the Madani government’s political performance a dismal 3 out of 10.

With such widespread disillusionment, PH is not only expected to lose seats — it is projected to lose far more than its current holdings.

Mathematically, this makes Anwar’s path to another term as Prime Minister almost impossible.

Crucially, throughout the entire podcast, Ong never once suggested that PH supporters are swinging to BERSAMA. This omission is telling. It implies that PH’s collapse is happening with or without BERSAMA in the picture.

The votes PH is bleeding are not merely being split — they are lost entirely to apathy, BN, PN, or simply staying at home.

Blaming BERSAMA for “splitting votes” is therefore disingenuous. PH’s core problem is self-inflicted.

Through policy failures, broken promises, perceived incompetence, and disconnect from the rakyat, PH has actively empowered both BN and PN while handing over political ground on a silver platter.

Anwar’s government is hemorrhaging its own base.

Anwar is desperately chasing after voters who fundamentally dislike or distrust him, while simultaneously alienating and losing his own core supporters. As the Malay proverb goes:

Yang dikejar tak dapat, yang digendong keciciran.” (The one being chased can't get it, the one being carried gets carried away).

The result? Pakatan Harapan is now under immense pressure.

The growing panic is visible: both Anwar and Transport Minister Encik Anthony Loke Siew Fook have reportedly lost their composure in public.

Instead of addressing legitimate criticisms, the pattern emerging is one of political intimidation — where critical voices risk being charged, prosecuted, or banned.

PH’s decline is structural and self-made.

The numbers are turning against them dramatically, and no amount of deflection toward BERSAMA or external “saboteurs” can hide the truth.

"The throne is being given away, not stolen. And the clock is ticking," said Media Coverage.
