Twice two foreigners fell at KLIA Terminal 2, then died, why?

KLIA police chief ACP Encik M Ravi said the incident occurred at about 9.10pm on 1 May 2026, when a member of the public saw the man remove his backpack, run, jump over a safety barrier, before falling from the ledge at the third floor of KLIA Terminal 2.

Media reported recently that another foreign national has died after falling from a ledge on the third floor at KLIA Terminal 2 on Friday night, 1 May 2026.

KLIA police chief ACP Encik M Ravi said the incident occurred at about 9.10pm, when a member of the public saw the man remove his backpack, run, and jump over a safety barrier before falling off the ledge.

“A medical team that arrived at the scene provided emergency treatment, and the man was taken to Cyberjaya Hospital for further treatment.

“At about 2.55am (Saturday), the hospital confirmed that he had died,” Ravi said in a statement.

Police identified the man as a 30-year-old Algerian national based on the documents in his possession.

Ravi said the cause of the incident is still under investigation and the case has been classified as a sudden death.

The incident follows another case where a Chinese national fell from a ledge at KLIA Terminal 2 at about 2.20pm on the same day.

In the previous case, the 27-year-old woman was seen crying and “screaming aggressively” on the edge of the third-floor balcony.

Ravi had said that staff and security personnel attempted to calm her down but were unsuccessful.

He added that a KLIA security officer tried to approach and assist her, but she struggled and fell to the KLIA2 loading bay.

The woman was sent to Putrajaya Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
