Li Shian is the youngest daughter of Public Bank’s late founder and chairman emeritus Tan Sri Teh Hong Piow, who had four children with the late Puan Sri Tay Sock Noy.
In a statement yesterday, Friday 29 May 2026, the bank said Li Shian brings experience from roles within international banking groups across the banking and financial services industry, including asset management.
Her appointment, it said, reflects the continuation of her father’s enduring values and legacy, as well as the Teh family’s long-standing support and commitment to Public Bank.
Li Shian was also appointed as a member of the bank's nomination and remuneration committee, and the risk committee, according to bourse filings.
Public Bank noted that Li Shian's experiences include product development, strategic planning, regulatory and compliance oversight, customer experience management and process improvement initiatives.
She holds a Master's degree in Business Administration from Macquarie University in Sydney and a Bachelor's degree in Business from Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane.
Shares of Public Bank closed down six sen or 1.3% to RM4.71 on Friday, valuing the group at RM91.4 billion.
