For the first time, AGC gets tough on Akmal
Summarizing its news report, Malaysiakini said the Attorney-General's Chambers has defied low expectations and will charge UMNO Youth chief Datuk Seri Dr Akmal Saleh for "threatening public order".
According to the news portal, the charges are over an unspecified Facebook post, likely in relation to his uproar over upside down flags.
Also to be charged is Bersatu Youth chief Encik Muhammad Hilman Idham for unspecified comments on TikTok.
Both are to be charged under Section 505(b) of the Penal Code, which is punishable with a fine, jail for up to two years, or both, said Malaysiakini, early in the morning today, Wednesday 20 August 2025.
