CLAIMED RECEIVED OFFERS, BUT UNWILLING TO REPORT - What does it mean?
In KOTA KINABALU, a number of Sabah assemblymen who claimed they were offered money to quit the Warisan-led administration have yet to lodge an official report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
In a statement, Sabah MACC chief S Karunanithy said they had contacted the assemblymen but they were reluctant to make an official report, claiming no transactions had been made, according to FMT.
Karunanithy did not name the assemblymen, but those who have reportedly made such claims include Yusof Yacob (Sindumin), Calvin Chong (Elopura) and Arunarsin Taib (Gum Gum).
The assemblymen, who are aligned to the state government, have claimed they were offered millions of ringgit if they defected from the ruling coalition.
Several police reports have been made on the matter.
“However, Sabah MACC will continue our investigations and are ready to accept reports and information from any parties involved,” Karunanithy said.
