Bernama Chairman's insulting question firmly answered by Zaid Ibrahim in his first days as PAS member

Malaysian official news agency Bernama chairman Datuk Seri Wong Chun Wai was reportedly questioning why PAS failed to sustain coalition politics. 

Former law minister Datuk Zaid Ibrahim (picture above believed to have been edited for entertainment purposes only, taken from the OutSyed The Box blog) who joined the Islamic party recently, responded today by saying it is because PAS did not, in the first place, initiate the coalition's inception, it came about in 1974, when UMNO invited PAS to join Barisan Nasional (BN) after 13 May 1969. When BN was stronger, and took over Kelantan in 1978, they ditched PAS out.

When Team B lost to Team A in 1990, they came to PAS for support. When UMNO became stronger, Team B rejoined and left PAS, said Zaid.

Zaid asked where did Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim go when he was sacked as deputy prime minister by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad in 1998? Answering his own question, Zaid reminded that when Anwar became stronger, PAS was left out of Barisan Alternatif.

Zaid further questioned when Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin was sacked by Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak, where did he go? The answer was PN. When Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin was sacked by Muhyiddin, where did Hamzah go? The answer was PAS.

"So, Mr Chun Wai, PAS was the ever-generous party to offer solace and comfort to those injured in their party fights. Some, like Hamzah, are the grateful type but don't blame PAS for failing to sustain the coalition. Chun Wai must not forget history to please Anwar," Zaid replied bluntly to Chun Wai, who is the former Chief Editor of the popular "MCA's" English daily, The Star.

Zaid wrote on his Facebook today.

MAHATHIR MAY REJOIN UMNO

Shah Alam City YESTERDAY, FMT reported that the capital city of Selangor had become very quiet, slow and almost no business, many buildings unoccupied, which one of them only utilised by less than ten staff of a company. Some factories closed down, businesses from petty traders to big timers closed shops for the past six months and so on. Dalam satu perkembangan yang agak memeranjatkan, teraju utama Parti Bersama Malaysia (Bersama) Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli mengesahkan Encik Syukri Razab ( gambar , atas sekali ) adalah presiden parti itu dan namanya berdaftar dengan Pendaftar Pertubuhan (RoS - Registrar of Society) Malaysia. Beliau merupakan bekas pegawai khas kepada Rafizi Ramli. Pahang DAP exco man awarded RM1.2mil damages over libel

Lawyer Encik Ng Yih Miin (left) said the court found that Pahang executive councillor Encik Sim Chon Siang (right) had not misused funds related to Malaysians trafficked to Cambodia and Myanmar, as alleged. Pahang executive councillor Encik Sim Chon Siang has won a defamation suit against social media influencer Encik Tony Looi, with the High Court in Kuala Lumpur awarding Sim a total of RM1.2 million in damages. As reported by FMT , lawyer Encik Ng Yih Miin said the court ordered general and aggravated damages against Looi, the defendant, on 9 April 2026. “The defendant is to pay RM800,000 in general damages and RM400,000 in aggravated damages, together with interest at 5% per annum from the date of judgment until full settlement, as well as RM10,000 in costs,” Ng said at a press conference yesterday. What I think about Rafizi’s new Party, BERSAMA By the way, that was me signing my application to join PPBM or Bersatu back in 2016. I was excited to welcome a new party that can reset Malaysia after Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak’s 1MDB. I was probably as excited as some of you planning to join Datuk Seri Mohd Rafizi Ramli’s Bersama political party. My PPBM membership was 000068. Talk about being one of the first. Najib lost PRU14 in 2018 bringing the collapse of UMNO dominance since Merdeka.  Najib said UMNO would be dominant for 1000 years but in reality UMNO lasted just 61 years. Hubris was Najib’s downfall.  Tun M was at the helm and I was excited, finally we would see progress. I was wrong.
