- MALAYSIAN former prìme minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad yesterday, 14 August 2020, threw cold water on the landmark accord reached by the United Arab Emirates and Israel, warning it was a step backwards for peace and would divide the Muslim world into "warring factions", reported SCMP.
- The two-time prime minister, a long-time defender of the Palestinians, criticised the US-brokered agreement.
- INDONESIA's largest Muslim organisation, Nahdlatul Ulama, with 60 million followers (as claimed), has warned the deal could trigger terror attacks there and in the Middle East.
